New Rogue: WindowsSecuritySuite

by LS Anders on July 10th, 2009 in Rogues.

This new rogue, WindowsSecuritySuite, is a clone of previously reported rogues such as VirusMelt, VirusAlarmPro and FastAntiVirus (to name a few).

As a clone, the authors of this rogue have not changed much - apart from the name - compared with previous versions. The rogue still tries to spread through fake online scanners, tricking users into believing that they might be infected and that they need download the rogue software. WindowsSecuritySuite will then find some fake detections and to remove this, the user is required to license the software. It will also hijack the Windows Security Center.
