New Rogue: BlockDefense

by LS Anders on August 31st, 2009 in Rogues, Security Alert.

BlockDefense is the latest rogue from the gang that previously provided us with other security software imposters like SaveSoldier and SaveKeep.

To try to trick the user, this rogue drops a few hundred fake files into the windows folder and then detects these as various malware. If the user does not register, the next thing they try is to hit you with warnings about fake online attacks.

If this still does not convince the user to register, they also present a fake version of Windows Security Center.
