New Rogue: SecurePcAV

by LS Anders on February 9th, 2010 in Rogues, Security Alert.

Today’s rogue antispyware clone of the WiniGuard family is SecurePcAV.

SecurePcAV uses fake online scanners to trick the user to install the software. Once installed it will drop and detect several false infections. The user is required to license the software to remove these false infections.

Ad-Aware will detect SecurePcAV as Win32.FraudTool.SecurePcAV and Win32.FraudTool.WiniGuard.
