Lavasoft recently launched a new version of the Registry Tuner. All Registry Tuner users with an active license will be able to upgrade to the new version, free of charge.
A huge amount of personal data was exposed in a recent Sony hack. Today, Sony disclosed that the security breach affecting almost 77 million PlayStation Network users, may also have affected 24.5 million users of Sony Online Entertainment, making this the largest personal data heist in history.

Tips on how to protect your privacy while using location-based services.
A few weeks ago, Facebook launched its new location-based service called Facebook Places. The feature lets users check in to different locations, via smartphones, and to share their location with their Facebook friends. It also gives users the option to “tag” friends who are with them at that same location.
Just as any location-based service would, this raises a multitude of security and privacy issues.
Facebook’s “Like” button – which gives users the ability to like comments, posts, links and pages – is one of the most popular features on the site. But for a long time, a huge number of people have been asking for the ability to give thumbs down as well – with a “Dislike” button – making it a prime target for scammers. The latest scam involves “the official dislike button”, which in actuality is a rogue application.
Just to be clear – there is currently no such thing as an official Dislike button.

In a comparative test published in Virus Bulletin’s August issue, Ad-Aware achieved one of the top results for malware detection. Virus Bulletin independently tests anti-virus products and those products which pass the tests are awarded the VB100. The test review covers a range of criteria, including detection rates, design and usability, and performance.
