Movies! Toolbar distributed by Bandoo Media Inc., describes itself as a convenient tool to make your browsing more enjoyable. And to provide such a feature, it requires the following permissions on your PC:

Default-search is a browser plugin created by Aztec Media Inc. that can be downloaded in a bundle with other free software that you downloaded and installed from the Internet.  Once it gets inside your computer it will change your homepage and default search engine to “www.default-search.net”

LookSafe is an application claims it's protecting your PC while you are browsing the web, providing protection from malware infections or phishing websites that can take control of your computer, sensitive details or identity. Although this may seem a legitimate and useful deal, be aware that this plug-in may be annoying and will display ads whether you want them to or not. This can slow down the Internet speed, increase CPU usage and may cause freezing of the browser.

SweetPacks Toolbar is a Browser Helper Object, which is supposed to add various shortcuts such as games, deal pages, etc., to your browsers for easy access. Once it got inside your PC it will inject SweetPacks Toolbar to your browser, set your browser default search engine to search.SweetPacks.com and change your homepage to start.SweetPacks.com.

SpeedUpMyPC 2014 (developed by Uniblue Systems Limited) is a paid system performance optimizer program that usually comes to your PC with free software using pay-per-install bundling marketing method.

Activeris Antimalware is considered as a paid antimalware program. Currently, www.activeris.com offers another program with similar interface, so you won’t be able to find a direct installation link for Activeris Antimalware either on the home page, or any download websites.

PC Performer by Performersoft is presented by its publisher as registry cleaner software. In fact once installed it informs you that several issues were detected on your computer. When you try to fix these errors, PC Performer fixes them partially and states that you need to buy its full version to fix all the issues.

There is one feature in NewPlayer that you may not like – once installed, it displays pop-up advertisements, discount coupons in your browser, creates ad-links for non-popular websites from random words on webpages you visit, it may even open new windows with ads without your approval.

Some of us may be unfamiliar with the many tech terms that spruce up every so often. Firewall can also be a term that not many are familiar with.

According to a study by National Cyber Security Alliance, only 4 percent of Americans say they understand firewalls “completely”, while more than 44 percent don’t understand firewalls at all - or know if they have one enabled on their PC. So for those who feel unsure, keep reading to find out why a firewall is a necessary part of your online defense.

To all our valued Ad-Aware users,

We would like to apologize for the definition file update error. The problem came from our definition file distributor in the US but they manage to fix it as soon as they could. We are also coming up with a new release, 11.2, within a few days.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience while we resolved the issue and let you know that we appreciate each and every one of you.

Thank you very much.
