Walk the Walk

Let me take a quick moment to explain for you one of the ways we are 'walking the walk' when it comes to making real social change in this burgeoning malware industry. We belong to two organizations that you should be familiar with, if only from a point of interest.

The Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC) is a dedicated group of industry folks, including ourselves, that are working hard to establish standard processes, definitions, and best practives in this spyware industry. What does that mean for you, the individual? It means that security companies like ours should follow the 'call a spade a spade' train of thought. Spyware should be defined in a standard way across companies to avoid confusion and misinterpretation among computer users. That's just one very small example of the good work being done at the ASC.

You should also know about our approach at a governmental level. We recently joined the Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA) where the focus is primarily on influencing the government to pass legislation that will ultimately affect and punish malware culprits. The organization is currently active in the United States and the European Union, and regularly speaks on expert panels to educate government policy makers.

So, not only do we talk the talk of the spyware industry, we are also keeping our eyes forward as we walk the walk, by making sure that we are able to create change on a larger level, not just isolated with our own company outreach.
