The Prince’s Rainforests Project

by Jason on June 23rd, 2009 in News about Lavasoft.

As we’re here doing business as usual at Lavasoft, we’re also thinking about the bigger picture – making the world a better, safer place for us all.

At Google’s Zeitgeist event in mid May, I attended a presentation from Prince Charles on his Rainforests Project, which promotes awareness of the need to take action against tropical deforestation, a major contributor to climate change. As part of our mindset to work towards safeguarding the environments we live in – whether online or offline – Lavasoft supports this vital community effort to help combat climate change by addressing rainforest destruction. The work of the Prince’s Rainforests Project, which was setup in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales, falls into two main areas: a proposal for an Emergency Package of funding for rainforest nations and a global awareness campaign.  Want to get involved? It’s another example of the power that we each have when working together to support a common cause – power to the people!
