Excitable, animated and bubbly are three words that explain this little Aussie who was raised in the Barossa Valley in the land down under. Arriving in Gothenburg with only a giant pink suitcase and no plan sounds like a scary prospect to most, but for this young ambitious Australian it presented an interesting challenge. Even the Gothenburg rain won't hold this one back as she giggles her way through her quest to conquer Sweden and tame a Squirrel.
"Arriving in Sweden I would have never anticipated that I would be where I am today. When I landed in a country with no plan, I certainly didn't expect to find an employment opportunity which was my perfect match, particularly considering that I couldn't speak a word of the native language. Despite my past work experience in international business I still expected to have to struggle my way through when I first arrived here by working in a bar or picking fruit like most expats whilst they learn the language; thankfully fate and luck had other plans for me. Within one week of arriving I was working in International Sales with Lavasoft and what an experience it has been.
I am so lucky to be where I am and I can't possibly imagine a better place to work. The people here almost feel like family and they were all so helpful and understanding as I went through my transition into a completely new culture. The people in a workplace make such a difference to the experience of work each day and at Lavasoft we have a combination that makes coming to work everyday fun, even in the most stressful situations. There have already been great opportunities here for me, in a few short months I was already offered a new position within the company and I was so happy to be offered this opportunity to grow within the organization. Lavasoft was the perfect landing for me here in Sweden and having a great workplace can make the dark Swedish days seem a much brighter."
