Meet Jeff

Read how a member of our Customer Support Team made a transition into the software testing process, in his own words.

While Jeff spent his first 11 months at Lavasoft working in Customer Support, when an opportunity to expand his role within the company came by, he was ready for the challenge.

"In my new role at Lavasoft, my main responsibility is to reorganize and administer the software testing process - including designing testing specifications, allocating resources, organizing the phases of testing, and facilitating communications between departments. This new position is exciting because I get to help steer the development of our various programs throughout their development and life cycle. The role is quite challenging, as well; a program in development changes so much from day to day, and so the requirements of my position also change from day to day.

I will of course miss being one of the hands on people in our Customer Support department. I will no longer get the "thank you" letters from our customers that remind you of the good work you are doing."

Jeff credits his background working with Lavasoft customers for strengthening his ability to relate to end users, which, in turn, ensures the software testing process is in tune with customers' needs.

"In order to test a program properly, it needs to be tested in as many different environments and situations as possible. Because of the ever-changing face of the technology industry, it is impossible to predict all situations that a program should be tested in. The best you can do is try to cover as many as possible. I think coming from our Customer Support is a great asset in this respect. I have spent so much time dealing with our customers that it gives me a unique insight into the situations our customers are going to want and expect our software to function in."

What does he like best about working for Lavasoft?

"I enjoy working for Lavasoft not only because I like the people who I work with, which I do very much, but also because it feels like we are a company that makes a difference. We provide a solution for people all around the world who need protection from the bad guys. I used Ad-Aware for years before coming to work for Lavasoft, and I really appreciated it, so it feels good to be working for a company where I can relate to the end users."
